Bot Scheduler

This metabot takes inputs such as bot name, device name, start date, and start time to then schedule a task bot to run in the Control Room dynamically

Top Benefits

  • Increases bot runner schedule optimization
  • Decreases manual tasks for Control Room administrators
  • Allows bots to re-schedule themselves using APIs

Tasks

  • Create ad-hoc Control Room schedules
  • Allow bots to re-schedule themselves in the event of a failure
  • Improve bot reliability

Have you ever wanted to schedule a bot from the Control Room but realized the scheduling option you want doesn't exist? Have you ever wished for a bot to maintain its own schedule based on your own custom logic? Are you tired of bots queuing up on a bot runner because of extended processing time? If you answered yes, then this metabot can help you.

This metabot allows a taskbot to schedule itself in the Control Room based on events that occur while processing. For example, your finance department says they want a bot to run on the last day of every month. Currently that option doesn't exist in the Control Room so you have to hardcode this each month. Instead, you can add this metabot into the taskbot to create a few calculations to determine the inputs.  Once the task bot completes its duties, then the metabot will schedule the bot in the Control Room to run at the end of next month.

Maybe you wish that, if a bot fails in production, the bot could re-schedule itself to run in the future. Simply add the metabot to the end of your task bot and provide the input variables for the bot to reschedule itself to run.  All you need is a username and password to login to the Control Room, the name of your bot and bot runner, and the date and time at which you want it to run.
