Top Benefits

Tasks

  • Reads input Excel file for Splunk dashboard configuration
  • Create Dashboard in Splunk using the Splunk web user interface

The objective of this bot is to automate the process of creating a dashboard in Splunk and automate sending the output in PDF through email.

Let’s assume, if 1 Employee is working 8hour/day to create a dashboard, on a daily basis he/she costs around $60 per hour to perform that work. The time consumption could be more when continuously checking the output and sending emails is considered. In a nutshell for 30 employees the cost estimate would be as follows: 1 Employee working = 8Hr/day, 30 Employees = 240Hr/day Rate/HR = $60/HR, Rate/Day = $14,400 Rate/Month = $2,16,000... but a bot will take minutes to create the same dashboard for employees at no cost.

Key Use Case: The bot will create a dashboard in PDF format in Splunk which can be useful for daily/weekly/monthly insights for the uploaded data. Once created, the bot will send an email with the dashboard attachment to the requesting individual for their review.
