  • Update Vendor Records via REST API
This use case demonstrates an Agentic Vendor Change Management solution built using Automation Anywhere, designed to autonomously process vendor master data change requests while enforcing enterprise-grade governance and control. Vendor change requests are submitted through a Google Form in unstructured, free-text format, mimicking real-world scenarios where vendors do not follow a fixed template. The AI Agent retrieves these requests and uses AI Skills to interpret intent, extract relevant information, and classify each request based on risk severity as Low, Medium, or High. Low-risk requests, such as changes to contact details or office address, are processed autonomously end-to-end. Medium- and high-risk requests, including bank detail changes or financial information updates, are automatically routed for Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) approval, ensuring compliance and preventing unauthorized updates. Once approved, the agent dynamically generates a precise JSON payload containing only the approved fields and applies the update using secure REST API calls to the vendor system. Rejected requests are skipped, ensuring that no unauthorized changes are executed. Throughout the process, the agent makes contextual decisions, selects appropriate tools, and maintains a complete audit trail capturing request details, severity classification, approval status, and update outcomes. This ensures transparency, traceability, and audit readiness. The solution highlights how agentic automation can safely balance autonomy and governance, reduce manual effort, improve turnaround time, and enhance data accuracy in vendor master data management. It is scalable, extensible, and representative of real-world enterprise automation scenarios where trust, compliance, and intelligent decision-making are critical.

Practical and well-structured agentic automation

The Vendor Management Agent AI use case demonstrates a clear and practical application of agentic automation in a real business scenario. The flow is easy to understand, and the overall logic feels reliable and well thought out.

Good Example of Agentic AI in Real Use

This is a fresh and practical use case. The best part is how easy it is for vendors to raise change requests using a simple Google Form. Vendors can explain their request in normal English without filling any complex forms, which makes the process very user friendly. The AI automatically classifies requests based on risk as low, medium, or high, which works really well. Low-risk changes are executed automatically, reducing manual effort, while medium and high-risk requests go through manual approval, which is the right approach. What stands out is that this is a true Agentic AI use case where the AI agent handles everything on its own — from understanding the request, making decisions, to executing the changes. Overall, the automation is impressive and clearly helps reduce errors and save time.

Agentic Vendor Automation (HITL Enabled)

I went through this Agentic Vendor Change Management bot and the design is very solid from a technical standpoint. Unstructured vendor requests are interpreted using AI Skills and classified into Low, Medium, and High risk, which then drives the execution path. Low-risk changes are processed fully autonomously, while sensitive updates like bank details are routed through Human-in-the-Loop approval. The use of dynamic JSON payloads, secure REST API updates, and end-to-end audit logging makes this solution well-governed and suitable for enterprise deployment.
